If you are posting to your Social Media and not using #hashtags, then what are you doing? Using them in your posts is a great way to tag your post and gain more likes, followers, shares, more brand awareness, and ultimately, more customers. But what is a hashtag and why should I #hashtag the crap outta my posts? #letmetellyou

Hashtags are the new keyword

People use social media now the way they used to use search: keywords. Each social platform can tell you the trending topic of conversation in a given category. And that category is defined by a #hashtag. To market your product and/or service successfully, this is a key digital ingredient in a successful social media post. Hashtags dramatically increase the reach of your posts. They can also help you find other people with similar interests. They can also help you do market research about your competitors.

And it’s not just for Twitter, its used on Instagram (explosively) and now trending on Facebook and LInkedIn. Basically, hashtags are here to stay, so you better get used to them. If you are a business, you should probably get better at it.
